Labor Day weekend is still a couple of weeks away, but we're giving the Brainiacs a little advance warning: Green Brain Comics will be closed Monday, September 7 for Labor Day. Enjoy the long weekend, get outside, eat something delicious, and maybe squeeze in a little reading. In the meantime, there's plenty to keep you occupied this Wednesday, August 26, with a seriously tasty stack of new comics hitting the shelves.
Batman Day is Coming — Saturday, September 19
We're getting ready for Batman Day, and this year we've got some fun stuff in the works. We'll have the exclusive Batman Day: The Batman of Two Worlds comic, along with other Batman Day exclusives, plus discounts on Batman back issues and graphic novels.
More details are coming soon, because apparently Batman prefers to operate from the shadows.
Brain Candy #82 — Monday, September 21 at 7pm
Brain Candy returns for another curated evening of live, original work, bringing together writers, musicians, poets, and visual artists for an intimate night focused on the work itself.

East Dearborn Drink & Draw — Friday, October 9
Mark your calendar for the next East Dearborn Drink & Draw at Downey Brewing, happening Friday, October 9 from 7–9pm. We're teaming up again with Blick Art Materials - Dearborn and Downey Brewing for another relaxed evening of making stuff, meeting people, and generally giving ourselves permission to draw without worrying whether it's any good.
Bring your own project, jump into the prompts, grab a drink, and hang out with fellow artists and comics people.
Coming Up at the Senate Theater
Our pals at the Senate Theater are getting ready to unleash some serious early-'90s adrenaline with Point Break (1991) on Friday, September 11 at 8pm. Surfing, skydiving, bank robbery, Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze—honestly, what more do you need? It's the perfect excuse to yell “Vaya con Dios!” at your friends.
BrainScan + Last Call
BrainScan is your weekly guided tour through the comics arriving on Wednesday, with Dan and the Green Brain crew digging into the new releases, highlighting the weird stuff, the big stuff, the stuff we're excited about, and the books that might otherwise sneak past your radar. It's part new-comic preview, part recommendation engine, and part excuse to talk about comics for way too long.
And then there's Last Call, our Friday-afternoon look at what's coming up on Final Order Cut-Off. Posted by 5pm every Friday, it's where we spotlight #1s, one-shots, new story arcs, and other jumping-on points worth considering before the preorder window closes.
