🧠 Brain Candy #76 – March 16
Our next Brain Candy lands Monday, March 16 at 7PM.
Co-produced by the Dan E. Wickett Legacy Committee, the Brain Candy Network, and Green Brain Comics, Brain Candy is a curated showcase of original creative work—bringing together writers, musicians, and visual artists for an evening centered on the art itself.

🛍 Catch Us at the Detroit Comic Book and Toy Show — April 4
You’ll be able to find us out in the wild on Saturday, April 4 at the Detroit Comic Book and Toy Show.
This long-running local show is a great place to hunt for back issues, meet fellow collectors, and spend a few hours deep in comic culture. We’ll have a table stocked with choice comics and Green Brain goodness, so if you’re attending, swing by and say hello.
✏️ Drink & Draw – Sharing Our Creativity
One of the best parts of comics culture is the simple act of making things together, and that’s exactly what our Drink & Draw nights are about. When we gather at Downey Brewing Company alongside our friends from Blick Art Materials, the goal isn’t perfection—it’s participation. Sketchbooks open, ideas get shared, and artists of all experience levels spend a couple of hours creating in the same space.
Whether you’re a seasoned illustrator, a doodler, a writer who likes to sketch between paragraphs, or someone who just wants to loosen up their creative muscles, you’re welcome at the table. Our next Drink & Draw returns Friday, April 10 from 7–9PM—bring your tools, bring your curiosity, and come make something with us.
🦸 Superman Day (…but make it Supergirl) — April 18
Mark your calendars, Brainiacs: Superman Day returns on Saturday, April 18, and this year the spotlight shifts to the Girl of Steel herself.
DC’s “Summer of Supergirl” celebration brings special edition comics, facsimile first appearances, middle-grade previews, and collectible foil or hardcover editions—while supplies last. Perfect for new readers and longtime Kryptonians alike.
🎉 Free Comic Book Day – May 2
And then comes one of the biggest comic celebrations of the year.
Free Comic Book Day returns Saturday, May 2, and we’ll once again be giving away a huge selection of free comics—three free books just for coming by.
We’re also planning to have local comic creators and community organizations set up under the canopy behind the store in the alley, making it a full afternoon of comics, creativity, and community.
More details will come together as we get closer—but the date is set.
