As we head into the latter half of March, we want to send warm wishes to everyone in our community observing Ramadan, which concludes this Thursday. Ramadan is a time centered on reflection, generosity, and connection with community. To all of our Brainiacs who have been observing the month, we wish you a joyful and peaceful celebration as the holiday approaches its close.
A Night at the Movies: Sunrise at the Senate
Our friends at the historic Senate Theater continue their fantastic silent film series with a screening of the legendary Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) this Saturday.

This stunning silent-era masterpiece is widely considered one of the greatest films ever made. Seeing it projected in a historic theater with live organ accompaniment is the kind of cinematic experience that only happens once in a while. If you’re looking for something special to do this weekend, we highly recommend checking it out.
Brain Candy #76 – Monday Night Creativity
Our long-running monthly creative showcase returns with Brain Candy #76 this Monday evening. If you’ve never attended, Brain Candy is a curated evening of live readings, music, and visual art presented in a welcoming, attentive listening environment right here at Green Brain Comics.
The event is co-produced by the Dan E. Wickett Legacy Committee, the Brain Candy Network, and Green Brain Comics, and it continues the tradition of bringing together writers, musicians, and visual artists to share their work with the community.
Brain Candy has become one of Dearborn’s most consistent creative gatherings—a space where storytellers, poets, musicians, and artists can present their work and where audiences can discover voices they might never encounter anywhere else.

East Dearborn Drink & Draw – April 10
If Brain Candy celebrates storytelling and performance, Drink & Draw celebrates the joy of simply making things together.
Join us Friday, April 10 for the next East Dearborn Drink & Draw at Downey Brewing Company, co-hosted by Green Brain Comics and our friends at Blick Art Materials.
This relaxed gathering is all about sharing creativity in good company. Bring your sketchbook, work on your own project, or try one of the drawing prompts we’ll have on hand. Artists of every experience level are welcome—from professionals to folks who just want to doodle while enjoying the atmosphere.
What we’ll provide
• Art supply samples from Blick Art Materials
• Drawing prompts and creative exercises from Green Brain Comics
What to bring
• Your favorite drawing tools
• Snacks or take-out (Downey Brewing is happily food-friendly)
• A willingness to share ideas and creativity with fellow artists

Supergirl Takes Over Superman Day – April 18
This year, Supergirl is stepping into the spotlight for Superman Day.
Saturday, April 18 — 12–7 PM
We’ll be celebrating the Girl of Steel with:
• Free specially marked Supergirl and Superman comics
• Special Superman Day edition comics available for purchase (while supplies last)
• Discounts on select Supergirl and Superman books
It’s a great chance to dive into Kara Zor-El’s history—from classic stories to modern favorites—and celebrate one of DC’s most enduring heroes.

Last Call on Hiatus
Our other YouTube series, Last Call: The Final Order Report, is taking a brief hiatus as we ramp up preparations for Free Comic Book Day.
Last Call will return after the big event to once again spotlight the titles hitting Final Order Cutoff, helping Brainiacs lock in upcoming comics before publisher orders close.
Until then, BrainScan will keep the hype engine running every Tuesday night.

Murder Hobo Vol. 1 (TP)
Fantasy adventure meets pitch-black humor in this outrageous graphic novel collecting the early exploits of the infamous “Murder Hobo.” In a genre usually filled with noble heroes and shining quests, this story gleefully explores what happens when the “hero” you hire turns out to be the absolute worst person for the job.
