That's right, Brainiacs: Batman Day is Saturday, September 19, and we're celebrating from NOON TO 7PM at Green Brain Comics!
We've got the exclusive Batman Day comic, The Batman of Two Worlds, plus a limited quantity of two special Batman Day hardcover editions with variant dust jackets:

Looking a little farther ahead, we've got another East Dearborn Drink & Draw coming Friday, October 9, from 7–9pm at Downey Brewing.

🧠 BRAINSCAN — TUESDAYS AT 6:30PM
Every Tuesday at 6:30pm, we sit down with the comics arriving Wednesday morning and take a look at what's worth putting on your radar. BrainScan is part preview, part recommendation, and part excuse for us to spend half an hour talking about comics we love.
We flip through the new releases, talk about the books that caught our attention, and occasionally get distracted by something completely unexpected. That's okay. Comics are weird.

Last Call is where we hunt for the new series, #1s, one-shots, jump-on issues, graphic novels, manga, interesting variants, and books that might otherwise get lost in the weekly avalanche.

📚 NEW COMICS FOR WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23
Okay, Batman Day is Saturday Sept 19. We got that out of our system.
Now let's talk about next Wednesday's comics, because we've got some seriously fun stuff coming your way—including a brand-new Star Trek, another trip into the dark world of That Texas Blood, psychedelic Mignolaverse spy-fi, the Muppets invading Marvel, and the latest Absolute Batman.
Here are a few books we're particularly excited about:
🚀 STAR TREK (2026) #1
A brand-new Star Trek flagship launches with Christopher Cantwell and psychedelic standout Dennis Menheere, sending the Enterprise-G beyond the known galaxy. Seven of Nine and her crew discover three seemingly perfect worlds—but strange artifacts, missing structures, time skips, and evidence of something Starfleet never detected suggest the Trinity worlds aren't what they seem. This sounds less like a routine exploration mission and more like somebody left a cosmic mystery box where the Federation couldn't resist opening it.
🤠 THAT TEXAS BLOOD: HELL COMES TO ALLISON RANCH #1
The acclaimed series returns with a brand-new #1, making this a particularly tasty jumping-on point. In 2003, Sheriff Joe Bob Coates and Deputy Wilson Hart arrive at the enormous Allison Ranch just as family tensions are becoming something considerably more dangerous. Chris Condon and Jacob Phillips return for another slow-burning Texas crime story, and this issue comes packed with bonus material including interviews, essays, cartoons, and behind-the-scenes goodies.
👻 GHOST OF A GHOST #1
Agent Jian, introduced in Giant Robot Hellboy, is back—and now she's got mysterious powers and a secret spy mission involving the bizarre substance enkeladite. Mike Mignola, Chris Roberson, Michael Avon Oeming, and Taki Soma are taking this corner of the Mignolaverse into psychedelic 1960s spy-fi territory. Secret agents, strange powers, mysterious organizations, and weird science? Yeah, this sounds like Mignola's world taking a wonderfully strange left turn.
🐸 MUPPETS TAKE THE MARVEL UNIVERSE #1
You know what Marvel was missing? The Muppets.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show, Chip Zdarsky and MacKenzie Cadenhead throw Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Rowlf, Bunsen, Beaker, and the rest of the gang directly into Marvel's superhero playground. Rowlf gets kidnapped by Mojo, Spider-Man and Black Panther get involved, and somebody thinks gamma rays and Pym Particles are appropriate Muppet science. This is either going to be completely ridiculous or exactly as ridiculous as it needs to be.
🦇 ABSOLUTE BATMAN #24
The battle between Bruce Wayne and Batman gets intensely personal as the Absolute Universe's Dark Knight faces the ultimate confrontation with himself. Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta continue building a radically different Batman, and this issue promises another major step in that evolution. “Without the badge…without her father…Absolute Bat enters the scene” is suitably cryptic, but one thing is clear: even after Batman Day, we're not done talking about the Bat.
